The USAF central logistics system procures, repairs, and distributes exchangeable parts in support of their warfighter brethren in the field. Current logistics management practices focus on satisfaction of supply goals based largely on statistical models of historical part-failure experience. While these techniques are effective in a large proportion of the parts population, there are circumstances in which failures momentarily exceed the statistical norm and in which patterns of need deviate from both the general Air Force experience and historical precedence.
WarMart is a crowdsourced common-operating picture (COP) capability that connects the warfighter to central logistics decision makers. Using proven and well-accepted social-media technology, WarMart collects inputs from warfighter squadrons and present actionable analytic results to depot and system program office (SPO) decision makers.
