Overview
CCAD has a re-occurring problem with the identification
of direct and indirect costs associated with activities at
the shop floor level. A means of determining job costs, based
on selected shop activities was required in order to anticipate
the costs associated with working job batches. CCADs
Blade shop and Shot Peening shop were selected as the focus
of these studies.
In the first phase of this project, KBSI developed
a series of models to analyze costs associated with working
a daily batch of parts. AIØ
WIN® and SmartCost®
were used to construct the shop activity decomposition, cost
models, cost rules and analysis spread sheets. The finished
model set allows for the flexibility to optimize the daily
workload flow in order to realize the highest productivity
and highest cost avoidance.
