Overview
Changes in the political nature of terrorism,
economic, and technological environments (including the success
of the internet in bringing the world closer together) are
rapidly affecting the nature of operations for U.S. Homeland
defense, military, and NATO. There is a compelling necessity
for these organizations to work collaboratively in a coalition
environment and robust planning, information sharing, and
statusing tools are required to support this collaboration.
KBSI's goal in this project was to develop
an Agent Based Toolkit for Integrated Planning and Execution
of Coalition Operations (ATIP) that will provide knowledge-based
assistance to coalition planning. The ATIP toolkit provided
a formalized coalition operations ontology and methodology
and a framework for communication and collaboration in coalition
environment. The software uses an ontology and rule-based
technologies for plan formulation and plan conflict resolution.
