Ongoing advancements in computing technologies have created a need for more structured and integrated computer systems. KBSI has developed a number of innovative technologies that use artificial intelligence and neural nets to address these shortcomings.

Research Areas

Multi-organization Planning and Scheduling (ATIP)
The ATIP project provides knowledge-based assistance to coalition planning by using ontology and rule-based technologies for plan formulation and plan conflict resolution.

Knowledge Discovery Wizard (KD Wizard)

The KD Wizard project focused on designing, developing, and validating an adaptive framework for knowledge discovery that provides mechanisms for generating knowledge-discovery applications from end-user specifications of decision objectives and sets of data sources.

Hybrid Discovery Wizard (HD Wizard)

The HD Wizard project developed an an agent-based system that automatically generates actionable information from disparate and distributed data to support intelligent decision making.

Information Fusion-based Indication and Warning Assessment and Recognition System (II-WARS)
IIWARS is a data mining and information fusion system that mines distributed text sources (news feeds, web databases, traffic reports, radio intercepts, human intelligence) to discover features or indicators of emerging threats.
Integrated Data Experimentation and Fusion System (IDEFS)
The IDEFS project developed innovative information processing technologies that, using learning systems like Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Expert Systems, and Genetic Algorithms, have advanced the state of the art in interactive, computerized data fusion.
Generalized Modeling and Analysis Tool (GERMAT)
GERMAT developed decision aids for the automated design and generation of intelligent information processing agents for the U.S. Army.
