Overview

This project focused on developing, in conjunction with Paperless Med, Inc. (PMI) a proof-of-concept software prototype for a physician-managed patient medical records system and providing consulting support in the technologies useful to extending such a prototype. The developed system utilizes the Microsoft® Windows™ NT Server operating system and implements, in Microsoft® SQL Server™, a data repository for the computerized patient records.

The proof-of-concept system, referred to as the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), addresses information processing anomalies such as needs analysis; requirements definition; data and information analysis; and system design, coding, implementation, and integration. The system also reconciles several information processing issues including domain knowledge capture, data representation, data integration, the development of a meaningful user interface, and legacy data management.
