Overview
The
Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) Simulation project was
conducted at Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC) to help the
workload transition team assess the facility, manpower, and
flow-time implications of expanding OO-ALCs current
PDM workload. In particular, OO-ALC was interested in determining
the impacts of adding the A-10 maintenance workload, which
is currently supported at Sacramento Air Logistics Center
(SM-ALC), to OO-ALCs current F-16 and C-130 workload.
Planned closure of the Sacramento Air Logistics Center (SM-ALC)
motivated OO-ALCs exploration of ways to fulfill the
A-10 maintenance mission.
The
products of this effort provided the workload transition team
with the assessment capability needed to anticipate the effects
of workload change and successfully bid for, acquire, and
fulfill A-10 maintenance requirements without degrading F-16
and C-130 maintenance process performance. The products of
the effort included analysis results, a Workload Transition
Testbed (WTT) analysis tool, and project documentation.
