Overview
KBSI and the EPAS Team (AMCOM/CCAD/AT&T)
tapped a pair of KBSI projects funded by the Air Force (Lean
Value Chain and KCHR)
in supporting the Army's Rotary Wing Aircraft Sustainment
Program (RWASP) Engine Process Analysis Support (EPAS) effort
at the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD). CCAD's T-700 engine
production was lagging far behind the Army's mandate of 25
engines per month and engine turn around time of 120 days-T-700
production was typically averaging 10 to 15 engines per month
and an engine turn around time of approximately 300 days.
KBSI attacked the problem using a comprehensive
approach that combined process mapping and analysis, the development
of detailed work breakdown structures, part/material control
and kitting, and the implementation of shop floor decision
support and scheduling systems.
