Governments around the world are increasingly applying successful commercial business practices in improving their own day-to-day operations. KBSI has supported this trend by introducing new business initiatives and directives in projects with several U.S. and foreign defense agencies, industries, and suppliers.

This work includes risk evaluation and analysis, lead time analysis and reduction, manufacturing facility analysis, and a host of continuous process improvement initiatives for planned and implemented systems.

Transmissions Remap
A comprehensive shop process analysis to determine the actual total time required for disassembly of the M1A1 maintenance and repair.
Army Transformation in Logistics and Sustainment (ATLAS)
ATLAS is a unified modeling and experimentation framework that uses simulation, tradeoff analysis, and data mining analysis and optimization to improve the Army's maintenance planning.
Methods and Engineering Time Study at Anniston Army Depot (ANAD)
A comprehensive shop process analysis to determine the actual total time required for disassembly of the M1A1 maintenance and repair.
CH-47 Recapitalization Analysis Support (CH-47 RAS)
A baseline analysis of the CH-47 airframe repair process and its principal supporting processes, facilities, systems, tooling, material flow, and parts management.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Screening Database System
Developed a database management system able to integrate bill of material data from seven rotary wing aircraft types. The system includes an interface to support data search, review, and reporting capabilities.
Job Cost Estimation System (JCES)-Shot Peening Shop
The JCES project developed a software system for determining job costs based on selected shop activities, helping CCAD better anticipate the costs associated with working specific job batches and to optimize the daily workload flow.
UH-60 Airframe Process Analysis Support (APAS III)
The APAS III project developed a software system that reduced repair cycle time and increased asset visibility, improved quality, and reduced wait times for repair materials.
Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Expert System (PPMES III)
The PPMES project developed a system that uses sensor-based alerts, maintenance history data analysis to provide maintenance data mining, statistical maintenance forecasting, and maintenance history data analysis.
T-700 Engine Shop Kitting and Staging Implementation RWASP Project (EPAS III)

This project, funded by the Army's Rotary Wing Aircraft Sustainment Program (RWASP), reduced overhaul cycle times, improved engine life, and increased engine overhaul productivity.

Shop Traveler Intergrated Database
This project developed a normalized, database management system to house CCAD's traveler data and provide user-friendly editing capabilities, inlcuding a conversion utility designed to generate HTML travelers directly from the integrated database.
Statistical Process Control Expert System (SPCES)

The SPCES project developed a methodology of use and software architecture for performing Statistical Process Control (SPC) within CCAD's machine shop. The integrated SPC software monitors parts dimensions and continually updates part data.
