Advanced Systems Engineering

In this intiative, KBSI is providing systems engineering program management support for the development phases of the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) Smart Transmission Test System (STTS) as part of the Dynamic Component Rebuild Facility and Transmission (Building 8 Replacement) Facility Military Construction Army (MCA) efforts.

In particular, KBSI is focusing on improving CCAD transmission and gearbox test capabilities by helping CCAD acquire and install a state of the art test system infrastructure that includes re-configurable smart test equipment integrated with a streamlined test process.  This system will have shop, item, and asset state data collection systems that allow it to monitor its own condition and to both provide a self-maintaining capability and feed critical test data to a variety of engineering, production, and quality functions through legacy system interfaces.

To meet these goals, KBSI will analyze and study system-development strategies, leveraging our experience in these areas, and put together an STTS system development plan that defines the stakeholders and the system modernization/acquisition process with supporting CCAD/Army organizations. In addition, KBSI will establish and manage a Life Cycle Artifact Repository to store key system documentation and analysis data (including STTS simulations, life-cycle cost and benefit models, function/data/process models, designs, test specifications, test results, development plans, acceptance plans, etc.) along with setting up and managing interfaces to this system.
