Applied Information Technologies
KBSI's work in information technology has focused on developing methods and tools that allow users in a wide variety of disciplines to better utilize their information: to more effectively discover, manage, and leverage their data. KBSI has worked with the U.S. defense and intelligence communities to enhance decision support and planning in novel network-centric war fighting environments, and to improve threat detection through the application of innovative pattern discovery techniques to an array of data sources. In the field of Health Informatics, KBSI is developing technologies for tracking blood product stores and for utilizing medical knowledge assets to improve diagnostics and health monitoring.
