Systems Integration Technologies
Components occur in most layers of a system structure. They also connect the various subsystems. A component within one system may be a subsystem or even a system with regard to another situation. Normally, when one thinks of a system, the image is usually the product of that system. Unfortunately, this results in system developers focusing on the system as a whole instead of the components, which for system developers, could be tools for building and maintaining the product, testware for evaluation, documentation, training and other software applications that assist the users of the system in various aspects of administration, semantic searching, supply chain management, asset management, etc. and each one of these components having their own pattern of development.
KBSI, through its over two decades of providing software solutions to many DoD agencies and commercial enterprises, has played a major role in integrating systems, from its creation of the IDEF methodologies to deploying many software applications resulting in improvement of technologies to cut maintenance costs, achieve performance improvements, improve decision making, and meet business goals.
