Designing & Building Enterprise Architectures
In determining whether an application will be beneficial to a company, one must consider the ramifications of that application on the business as a whole. The impact of the new technology on each aspect of the business (or enterprise), such as the IT department and its assets, corporate administration, other in-place systems, employees/users and operational characteristics must be considered when the development of an application to be integrated into the enterprise. Each component is critical to performing the mission of the organization. This Enterprise Architecture, or ‘systems thinking’ approach is about more than just the technology. The entire organization and all the intricacies that make it work must be considered.
In the two decades since its founding, KBSI has become renowned for its expertise through the iterations of the terms – Business Process Re-Engineering, Systems Engineering and now Enterprise Architecture. Not only does KBSI consider the organization when gathering the needs and requirements for new software or new systems-of-systems, but is well known for creating easy to use rapidly adaptable software that enables the organization’s users to respond quickly to changes in the environment in which the organization operates.
